WHAT A REMARKABLE RESULT ONCE AGAIN, BY THE GENEROSITY OF FREEMASONS AND THE PROVINCE OF CORNWALL IN PARTICULAR
THE EVER POPULAR ANNUAL PROVINCIAL CHARITY DAY PROVES TO BE ANOTHER RESOUNDING SUCCESS.
AND 2018 IS NO EXCEPTION, AS £45334.60 IS DONATED LOCALLY IN JUST A FEW HOURS.
At the recent Annual Provincial Charity Day the staggering sum of £45,334.60 was donated to forty-five worthy and deserving Cornish Charities in a presentation that lasted just under two hours.
In the sweltering heat of a packed to capacity Lodge room at Newquay, representatives from forty-five local Cornish Charities were in attendance to receive yet further donations from those various Lodges across Cornwall, who were thrilled to be making presentations, from Bude to Penzance.
The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Stephen C Pearn along with various Lodge representatives and Lodge members made the presentations to their lucky recipients who were chosen or selected to receive these remarkable charity payments.
Ian Butler, CBB Fundraising Manager and Jayne Penlerick CBB PR Media Liaison were honoured to have been invited along to such a wonderful event and to meet with other organisations.
The vast majority of members within the Province of Cornwall have now donated almost £350,000 over the last eighteen months to help bolster funds and support local Cornish Charities within our local communities. We are so proud to help those in need or less fortunate than ourselves, an incredible effort by all concerned which just goes to show how special Freemasonry and the members of the #ProvincialGrandLodgeCornwall in particular are.
Ian and Jayne had chance to catch up with Right Worshipful Brother, The Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Cornwall, Mr Stephen. Pearne.
Ian’s mode of transport to this event was his very first outing on the “Spirit of Cornwall” which CBB had unveiled in spectacular style at our charity gala evening held in April, where Mr. Pearn and senior brethren from the Province of Cornwall had been in attendance to name and officially handover this magnificent machine.
Once it was realised the new bike was downstairs there was certainly great excitement amongst some of the brethren to get downstairs and view this magnificent beast, and the Provincial Grand Master could not resist another sit on the bike.
Ian & Jayne immensely enjoyed the ceremony and the hospitality shown to them and were humbled and astounded to receive a £500.00 cheque from the Province and a further £800.00 from St. Ann’s Chapel Lodge.
Thank you from all the volunteers at Cornwall Blood Bikes your support has been phenomenal and the Province Grand Lodge of Cornwall as an organisation has played a pivotal part in shaping the charities future.
