Half Marathon To Keep Our Wheels Turning

Back in September 2018 advanced on duty advanced fleet bike rider Paul Thomas, with “Spirit of Cornwall” headed up to Lemon Quay Truro to join Fundraising Manager Ian Butler and PR Media Liaison Jayne Penlerick for Truro Half Marathon hosted by Truro Running Club.

It was a fantastic day where we were accompanied by four outstanding ladies in the form of the “Oarsmen Foursome” with their mouth watering cake stall all raising funds for sponsorship of their Transatlantic Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2020 where they prepare to row 3,000 miles in aid of Charities including Cornwall Blood Bikes.
It was brilliant to meet so many people, and to see the dedicated commitment and fitness of these runners, and we were astounded at some of the times achieved by individuals.

Paul did get called away to one of our hospitals on a time critical call, which left Jayne and Ian in charge of the mini blood bike which never failed to have admirers.

Following on from this great day Cassie and Sue very kindly invited CBB along to a cheque presentation evening before one of their evening runs.
We were delighted to send along our CBB Fleet Manager John Penlerick, who gratefully received a cheque for the superb amount of £500.00
John as our fleet manager knows exactly how much our BMW 1200 RTPs cost to keep in the road, and how this outstanding some of money will go a long way to keeping our wheels turning.

A very big thank you from all the volunteers are Cornwall Blood Bikes, for your tremendous support.
