A very big thank you to St Day Line Dancers for their most generous donation of £300.00 which was presented on the 9th July when our Cornwall Blood Bike Fleet Manager was invited to pop along to their weekly session of dance. Word has it he was invited to take to the floor but graciously declined.
John was joined on the night by Karen from the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity who also received £300.00 for the Neonatal Unit at The Royal Cornwall Hospital. Karen spoke about some of the recent purchases for the Neonatal Units including iPads to allow the unit team to record baby diaries. These will allow parents to see regular updates and photos of they baby particularly if they unable to be on the unit- a real comfort, at what can be a particular difficult and stressful time.
It was a true pleasure to meet this lovely group of people, who were so friendly and a big thank you for their hospitality to both their guests, it was incredible to hear that this group have made over £50,000 of donations to local charities over the years!
A very big thank you to everyone involved from the St Day Line Dancers, for us as a charity it is an incredible donation and interestingly enough very poignant in the fact that CBB do a lot to assist the Neonatal Unit at RCHT when we quite regularly relay donor breast milk into the County from the donor bank at Southmead, Bristol for neonatal babies. Thank you for keeping our wheels turning and allowing us to work in alongside our NHS partners.
